From the parish's humble beginning in the remodeled milk house which served as the parish chapel for twenty years; to our temporary, ecumenical home at Robeson Lutheran Church (1972-1975) where Catholic Sunday Masses were offered during the period when our first church was being built by our own parishioners at it's present location on Chestnut Hill Road, Plowville, Pennsylvania. Daily Masses were then said in a renovated candy factory lovingly provided by the Gates family. Robeson Lutheran (Plow) Church and Saint Benedict's Roman Catholic Church have maintained an excellent ecumenical spirit over the years which is hallmarked by the joint Thanksgiving Prayer Service for Christian Unity and Peace. Our new church and educational wing was the first church built and dedicated in the Allentown Diocese in the new millennium. Bishop Cullen formally dedicated this edifice on Sunday, March 5, 2000.
